From when I was young, and to this day my grandpa would tell me stories, and stories, and stories of his days in Vietnam. He would also show me all of the swords, knifes, and any other weapons he had to me. He would tell me stories of where they were made and how. The suprising thing though was that he let me hold them. Now keep in mind that he did let me hold these weapons when i was about 8 years old. I'm not the smartest person in the world, but im pretty sure kids and weapons are bad. Through those years though he has tought me that weapons are for protection only (and maybe to show to your grandson).
My grandpa is still the smartest person I have yet to meet. He knows everything about anything. One of the reasons he still knows alot is because of these journals he kept for over 60 years! He's been practically all around the world, and through his adventures he would record them in his journals. I think he has about 64 journals, or something crazy like that. When i visit him now, i'll sit and watch tv with him from time to time. When we do watch, we either watch the History Channel, or the Military Channel. As we awatch all these programs, he'll ask me things like , "Now.......Jeff you know where the first bomb was dropped right?" To which I would shortly reply ,"no." Everything I talk about with this man is one of the most intellegent discussions i've ever had. Although some of his thoughts are weird and stupid to me, I still love and respect the hell out of him.
